Representation and Target Audience

the target audience of action movies is typically people from ages 15 to 40. The younger generation likes the adrenaline rush they get from action movies. Knowing the target audience and what they look for is important when making a movie. For my movie opening I have to take into consideration everything that the target audiences want to see. The stunts and action sequences are the most important when it comes to boosting the adrenaline amongst the audience. In my film opening I don't need to depend on the main action sequences to do this. Instead, I can use a smaller action scene. Things like a small fight, gunshot, or explosion. The most important thing for me to do, is to find a way to make an opening that foreshadows that there will be more action scenes. The dialogue and camera shots are another important aspect of action movies.

In the movie opening provided with the link, the use of close ups of certain items aid in setting the tone of the film. There is a close up shot of a gun and the speedometer of a car going at alarming speeds. This hints that here will be action sequences later in the movie. In the last part of the clip, a person gets shot. This develops the plot and character, without giving away too much information.

Another aspect of action movies is its representation. representation within the film is extremely important. This is true, because the target audience wants to see someone that can inspire them. I feel that I need to have a diverse group or at least a diverse main character in order to help the movies representation.
